Successful Powhow Studios do NOT offer discounts on individual classes. Instead they offer discounts on Packages or Monthly memberships that incentive a commitment on behalf of their clients.
Free classes have both low attendance and sign-up rates. Simply put, these clients have little reason to commit to attend the class that they have not paid for. A free class does not encourage commitment and does not offer the opportunities for you to form a relationship with your clients that will ultimately lead to greater retention.
It's important that you think about free classes in the context of your greater pricing and studio strategy. Instead of offering free classes, your studio will be better served by an Introductory Offer that incentivizes commitment.
The only cases where we do recommend free classes, is for when you are first starting out and testing your studio with friends and family or want to invite a journalist or blogger to write about your class. In these cases, instead of setting the class price to $0, create a 100% off promo code. We do not recommend offering free ($0 dollar) public classes on your studio page.
